  • What Is A Traffic Exchange?
    Thomas Kuptz
    Wednesday May 17th, 2023

    What...

First, what is TRAFFIC? Traffic is, simply put, a flow of visitors. People flow into markets, service shops, and information centers in the offline world by foot, vehicles, or even the telephone. Here on the internet, they flow to websites for the same purpose. That's traffic.

How they get to those websites is mostly by word of mouth or search engines like Google and Yahoo. BUT... What if I told you there are hundreds of thousands of viewers right here in traffic exchanges? Interested?

    Why...

Before you click to another webpage, if you're thinking that you just don't have the time to view other people's websites, no problem. You don't have to! All traffic exchanges sell advertising too. So if you're short on time, you can purchase ads without having to do any surfing yourself.

Traffic Exchanges are member-based in nature, so you will need to open an account with each one that you intend to use. This is a simple task which you can complete within a couple of minutes. Additionally, and as the name implies, FREE exchanges cost you nothing to join. (Or, you can upgrade to a reasonably priced paid membership to earn viewers faster.)

    How...

Traffic Exchanges operate on a credit system. Members earn credits by participating in a variety of ways. Typically by surfing, and then "spend" these credits for website views, banner ad impressions, text links, and in some cases, e-mail advertisements.

    TWO TYPES

There are Manual Traffic Exchanges and Auto Surf Traffic Exchanges:

Manual - These are the exchanges that I most highly recommend and use as you have to manually click on them and move to the next site after so many seconds. This also means that you have to see the page to click on (and so do the other members).

Auto Surf - Most exchange users stay away from these as members can just start the surf and go about doing other things. There may be an occasional prompt but otherwise nothing stops the sites from rolling through without anyone seeing them.

Any results from Auto Surf exchanges rely on a MUCH larger number of "views" than in a manual exchange. Someone just happened to be there when a site grabbed their interest. Some sites may be combination exchanges which use both manual and auto surf in different areas. The quality of these sites would depend on the focus and commitment of the owner/admin.

    YOUR CHOICE

Now that you are aware of the two types of exchanges that you can use, you need to choose between using a FREE or PAID Traffic Exchange.

FREE - a free exchange costs nothing to join and use. This is a great free advertising resource. Most offer commissions in credits and/or cash if you sign up others to them. Most also give you a percentage of your referrals' surfing credits.

PAID or PRO - a paid, or sometimes referred to as a PRO, exchange, requires a one time sign-up fee and/or a monthly subscription in order to join. This can be a good thing since you know that every person who is using the exchange has actually spent money to join. These may offer much better results than the free exchanges do, but they typically have a lot fewer members and do not have as broad a reach. Most have converted over to free exchanges but there still might be some out there. So, unless you want to look for Pro exchanges, your choice is primarily made for you.

    Affiliate Marketing

As an ongoing way to create income opportunities, affiliate marketing has captured the imagination and attention of a number of entrepreneurs over the last decade. Here is some background on the development of affiliate marketing and how it continues to evolve today.

At its core, affiliate marketing is all about getting attention for a good or service by utilizing online resources that are managed by partners or affiliates. The most simplistic of all these methods is allowing advertising to be displayed on a web site that is the domain of the affiliate. Typically, the advertisement will allow the prospective customer to click on and be redirected to a page or site where there is more information and the chance to order the good or service in question. In return for providing a doorway for that customer to discover the product of service, the affiliate is rewarded with compensation, usually via electronic transfer or check.
